The One Fall Trend I’d Actually Wear

Fall fashion is starting to show up everywhere.

And there are a few trends I keep noticing.

Funnel necks are back in a big way.

I like the austere and modern look, but I already know I’m probably not wearing one.

Then there’s color.

After seasons of beige, brown and quiet neutrals, color is everywhere again.

And one of the strongest colors coming into fall is purple.

A deep, rich purple.

Purple has always been one of my favorite colors, so that one immediately got my attention.

But there’s another trend I started noticing that feels familiar, but fresh.

Those Beatles, Sgt. Pepper-era military styling are showing up again on vests and jackets.

The difference now is that they’re more monochromatic, which makes them feel cleaner and

more modern.

I saw versions of that idea on the runways, and then I spotted a vest at Zara in this great mossy green.

That was the piece I would actually wear.

It felt elevated without feeling overdone.

You could wear it closed as a vest, put a simple white T underneath, or layer it under a jacket to give the look more depth.

And that mossy green with a deep purple?

Perfect together.
