You are not late. You are right on time.

Some of you may remember that last year I popped into your inbox and said, “I’m back.”

And then… you didn’t hear from me again.

What happened?

Somewhere between finishing my book and trying to reconnect everything on the tech side, I may have temporarily broken Google and my email system. Not my proudest moment.

But the bigger reason is simpler.

What I thought was the final stretch of finishing my book took longer than I expected. A lot longer.

Five years, actually.

Most of you know me as a fashion designer. Writing a book meant learning an entirely new industry. Publishing is its own world, and I found myself figuring it out step by step while also finishing something deeply personal.

There were many moments where I thought the book was done.

And then I would read it again and realize… not yet.

Which raised a question I kept sitting with while writing it:

How do we live with the discomfort of something not being finished yet?

How do we trust ourselves enough to know when something is ready?

As it turns out, that question became the heart of the book.

Trust Yourself Anyway: Designing a Life That Fits is a collection of short stories, reflections, and practices about the very thing I’ve spent years learning myself.

Recently I saw the final cover for the first time. My name was on the top.

Underneath it said: Trust Yourself Anyway.

And I burst out laughing.

Because in that moment I realized something obvious.

I might have written this book for myself… to remember to trust myself anyway. Ha.

Confidence and clarity rarely come from waiting until everything is perfect. They come from stepping into the fitting room of your life and trying things on — paying attention to what fits, what doesn’t, and having the courage to change.

Trust.Awareness.Curiosity.Letting go.

Those four ideas became the framework of this book.

So yes… I’m back. For real this time.

Each week I’ll be sharing stories, reflections, conversations, and gatherings around something I believe we all need more of right now: learning to trust ourselves so we can design lives that truly fit, instead of squeezing ourselves into ones that no longer serve us.

The book releases May 12th and you’ll be among the first to hear when it’s available. I can’t wait for you to read it — or listen to it. I narrated the audiobook myself.

I’m also excited to share that my new website is now live. It will be home to conversations, workshops, and gatherings happening in different cities.

I'm so happy we reconnected.

Thank you so much for being here.

Sally

Quote Of The Week

“Confidence isn’t something you achieve.

It’s something you remember.”
